Beef Mechado



2 Kilos beef mechado cut (ask butcher’s help)
Paprika for rubbing on meat
Freshly ground pepper, as desired
½ Cup extra virgin olive oil
4 small white onions, sliced finely
1 can San Miguel Light
1-2 Knorr beef cubes with water, as needed
½ Cup to 1 Cup light soy sauce
1 medium potato, peeled, minced



Rub Paprika and ground pepper on meat, let stay for 10 minutes before searing.
Heat olive oil and sear the meat till brown on all sides. Remove from pan.
In same oil, sauté onions till caramelized. Add beer, beef cubes stock and soy sauce.
Add the meat and let boil for several hours till very tender.
Add more stock if needed.
When meat is tender, add potatoes. Or you can first fry potatoes and add as garnish.
